Polar Bear Pedal 2014

On my way to the annual Mayor Polar Bear Pedal.  19DegF when I left the house.  This is the trail head for the new Wapahani trail with about 4-6" a snow on it.  Pedaling through the snow was a workout.

Single Track

Nice view of the city from the trail.

Few of the brave souls.  Over a thousand people registered.

Mayor Ballard giving a pre-ride pep talk.

After party at City Market

The ride home was a lot warmer after a couple beers.

My bike loaded with cloths for the just in case.

Another shot of the city.

Go Colts

Hmmm.  Even for all terrain bikes?? I don't know why the sign is here, the trail was fine??

Local art.

More local art.

Back in the woods toward home.  The ride was an absolute blast, look forward to next year.  About 37 miles total.

Rainbow on the ride.

My trusty old Fuji

Pit stop for a tube change

Shelter from the rain....Again.

Testing out the rig and set-up I used for my ride up to Michigan

I know what School BS is, but I have no idea about Watch FR???

My attempt at beauty.

Getting later in the year.  Sunset on my afternoon commute.

Fields being plowed.

I got off the road for him.

My latest commuting rig.  Surly Cross Check. Alfine Dyno hub and Revo Light.  Down tube friction shifting.

A friend meeting me in the morning.  It was 35ish DegF, I know he was cold.

Foggy later in the year.

Little bit of off-roading through a cornfield.  Impassable when muddy.

Corn is gone.

Another shot of Salem Church.

Cold and beautiful.

One of my last commutes of the year.
