This was Indiana Randonneurs first Brevet. At just over 200k and a finishing time cut-off of 13-1/2 hours, Indianpolis-Story-Indianapolis had a mix of just about everything. Some nice urban riding accompanied with beautiful hilly southern Indiana rural riding.
I only live 13 miles from the start of the event at Major Taylor Velodrome so I decided to ride to it. Some photos of Indianapolis at sunrise:
At the halfway point at the Story Inn in Story Indiana. A nice break to get our card stamped, re-fill water bottles, and some nourishment.
Pretty cool place. I've been around the Inn, but never visited.
Shot of the pub.
Check out the mountains in the background.
The after ride shot. Total mileage was 140 for the day. The end of July Indiana Randonneurs is hosting the 300k with a time cut off of 20 hours. Hopefully everything will work out and I'll be able to participate.
